That's it! Easy, peasy!

Here are some things that have been FAB in my week:

  • My daughter's basketball team is playing for the COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE TONIGHT! Huuuuge deal! Our school's girls basketball team hasn't played in a county championship game since 1996 and they haven't WON a county title since 1991! Like I said ... it's a BIG deal! And I couldn't be more proud of my baby girl. I know she's almost 18 years old, but she's still my baby!
  • We had some fun family time Thursday night and went to another college basketball game. They lost! But we had a fun time anyway. :)
  • I have discovered the joy of peanut butter mixed into plain or vanilla Greek yogurt. OMG! It's my new favorite sweet treat! Mix in a few chocolate chips and it is totally a heavenly dessert!
  • We placed an order for a bunch of new K-cup flavors and I can't wait for them to get here. One new flavor we tried is French Toast! Sounds so yummy!
  • I got a new shellac put on my fingernails this week. I love having pretty nails! :)
  • Oh my gosh, I'm coming back to this post to edit and add something that slipped my mind when I typed this list! For YEARS I have shopped online at Old Navy for plus-sized clothing. Recently, there has been a sale on their active wear line. You may have seen where some bloggers were sent a $50 gift card to try out their line (Lucky!!) so I went ahead ordered a few pair of capri length workout pants and yoga pants.I knew I didn't need plus-sized (1X or 2X, etc.) any more but I wasn't sure if I would need a L or an XL so I ordered both. I decided to try the L first ... and they FIT! They weren't tight. There was not any wiggling into them. They just FIT! There was no X in front of that L. There was no 1X or 2X in front of that L. It was just an L. A regular ol' L. That. Is. Fan. Tastic. :) Now I'm looking forward to the day that there is an M on the clothes I'm buying!

So, I started getting this weird twinge in my lower back on Monday. I went ahead and did a kettlebell workout on Tuesday and it was even more sore on Wednesday. But being the optimist that I am, I figured I could just walk it out! I got on the treadmill Wednesday afternoon and although I felt a little tightness when I first started, it started feeling a little better so I figured I was good to go. I started jogging and that felt ok too. Yay. There was the occasional twinge but I figured that was just my body's way of working it out.

Afterwards, I jumped in the shower and got ready for my daughter's basketball game (they won!) but by the time I got home Wednesday night my back was realllly aching. It only worsened yesterday. :( Other than going to the ballgame last night, I pretty much spent the day sitting or laying back on a heating pad and taking Bayer back and body every 6 hours. Boo.

When I woke up this morning it's still got that same ache/twinge. When I lower into a sitting position or when I twist at all or get "jarred" even a little is when it hurts the most. Sneezing is a nightmare! A slight twist or jarring causes an intense pain. On a scale from 1-10 it hurts as a 3 or 4 all the time, but when I twist or turn at all it flies up to a 10! As soon as I move back into a straight position, it's back to just a small pain.

Standing is hard because I find that I'm bending forward just a little bit and trying to stay directly upright puts too much pressure on my lower back.

Gahh. This is NOT fab. And I don't have time for this!:(  whine. whine. whine.

I'm just not sure what to do from here. Do I try to push through it? Do I rest it? I don't think anything is "wrong", I think I've just pulled something.

I think it's so funny that I finally get myself back on the "get moving" train and now I'm slowed down again by my body. Argh.

  1. Congrats on the L!!! I have went down from a size 34/36 (5XL) (yep, you read that right...5XL) to a size 18/20 (2XL) in the last 19 months and I know how exciting dropping those X's can be! Keep up the great work!

  3. Congratulations on the L! I know the feeling! I recently fit into a XL shirt from there. At the beginning of my journey I couldn't sausage in to a XXL shirt from there. It's a wonderful feeling and so make the sweat and pain worth it! So happy for you!!
