That's it! Easy, peasy!

Here are some things that have been FAB in my week:
  • If you read my post last week about my daughter's team playing in the county tournament championship game and they lost by 5 points, you know how disappointed we were. Well, they had a rematch at home with the same team in a regular season game last night and won. Actually, they didn't just win. They kicked their A**! By 19 points! The greatest thing about this is that their team is now in first place in the conference. As long as they win their next three games (and they should), they will be conference champs! That's huuuuge! Maya's softball team (she played first base) were the conference champs in softball last year. It's such an achievement to receive that conference title in one sport you actively play during high school, but how awesome it would be for her to be an integral part of TWO teams that won a conference championship during her high school athletic career! For those of you that aren't sports oriented, you may not "get" that, but I promise you, it's impressive! :) She has such a good core group of athletes in her age group that are not only gifted athletically but also great students and wonderful people. I am so proud of them all. When our kids were in middle school the high school coaches would say they couldn't wait for those kids to get into high school so could get their hands on them and earn some championships. Well, it's happening!
  • Maya got an email from a small college in Illinois that they have been watching her stats and asked her to apply to the college and to send them game film. That's pretty awesome! :)
  • Evan really struggled with school during the first semester and we got a tutor to help him along with his advanced math class. He is doing SO much better! Better with his grades, better with his effort and better with his overall attitude about school. I just hope and pray that continues! So proud of the hard work he's been putting in!
  • My husband.♥ My back is still out :womp womp: and he is picking up the slack in a big way. Things aren't "normal" around here but he is helping out and doing the best he can. I appreciate him so much.
  • Even though I haven't been able to exercise, I have been stayed on plan all week. I've followed my dinner menu plan and I've made healthy choices for breakfast, lunch and snacks without falling off the wagon once.
  • I already posted about this, but it is so awesome that I have to share it as one of my FAB things! After a previously unsuccessful attempt, this week I was able to make reservations for all of our meals at Disney World for our trip in March! I got every single one that we wanted! Woohoo! I'm sure as that gets closer I'll write a post about our restaurant choices at Disney. Gahhh, I love Disney so much and just talking about it is making me excited! :D :D
  • As I've been finalizing our spring vacation, I realized that I am going to need to buy all new capris, shorts, and shirts before we go! Last spring/summer I got by with my "getting too big" size 18 pants/shorts and 2XL shirts. But this year, there is no way I am going to be able to make those work! YAY! If I were shopping today I would get a 14 but, dare I say, I might be wearing a 12 by then (?). Gosh, I hope so!
  • It snowed last night! It's not much, but hey, it's white stuff on the ground and I like it! :)
  • Maya and I are going to go prom dress shopping on Saturday afternoon before she goes to work. eek! That's always mixed with excitement (seeing her all dressed up and excited) and fear (sooo much money!).
  • Family time! Our family of four is going to another college basketball game on Sunday. I love me some family time. ♥ The scary part about that day is I know my kids are going to want to go out for dinner following the game and I know I'm going to be tempted to eat popcorn at the game. But weigh-in day is Monday and I can not have extra weight from sodium! LOL Hopefully, by putting my fear "out there" today, I will have the willpower to resist the temptations that Sunday will bring.

I've put it off long enough, but it's time to conquer the disaster that is "tax season" with our business. I need a better plan for 2013 because my lack of organization re: this stuff has created a mess for me to clean up. #stress

I am such an organized, methodical thinker, I don't know how or why I have allowed this to get so out of control. That's not true, I do know why. I got behind when my mom got sick and I had to spend so much time away from home/work with her from Feb-Sept. The paperwork was one of those things that just slipped off my priority list. Well, that's coming back to bite me in the butt now! Wish me luck on getting 2012 all organized and for getting back on track and getting 2013 off to a great, organized start!

  1. Congratulations to Maya and her team! Awesome job! Prom dress shopping sounds like fun. I'm not sure if my oldest will be going or not, but I definitely want to take her shopping for dresses if she does.

  2. Yay a for a great week. That's awesome about your daughter's basketball and sending a tape to a college! And yay for clothes shopping! It's a perk for all the work you've put in.

I am always tempted by the ball game popcorn. I try to tell myself this is not the last ball game and I can always get it next time. Having that little victory will feel so good eventually you won't want it anymore. That being said I have to work in the concession tomorrow morning. Ugh! I'm gonna be telling myself that over and over!
